True match my arse!!

"true match perfectly matches the color and texture of your skin for a flawless finish"

This foundation comes in an impressive 20 shades, bound to find one to suit your skin tone. L'oreal boasts True Match to be super blendable with the ability to hide imperfections with its fine creamy texture.

After using L'oreal foundations before, reading this and seeing the range of colors and the price tag of £9.99 (cant get a euro price atm) I decided to pick up this as part of my search for the perfect foundation.

As mentioned before I'm as pale as you can get, but my cheeks have a bit of redness and with a few spots here and there I had high hopes for this foundation to hide my imperfections.

I am so disappointed. Its probably one of the worst I've used. The texture is NOT creamy, its so watery, it slides right off the back of my hand. I shook the life out of it thinking it would thicken up but it didn't at all.

I've applied it in many different ways trying to get the 'flawless coverage', with a kabuki brush, a flat brush, and my fingers. I have used it with primer and without. The results stay the same. Very little coverage, and after an hour or two I look like I have scaley skin. I was morto one day in work when I looked at myself in the mirror I looked like a snake that had melting skin. This foundation has no staying power, rubs off with the slightest touch. All round very disappointed.

However as I am about to post this I get a comment from Hannah who has said she is using True Match and getting on good with it. Therefore I decide I'll give it another go. As I apply it before work, I know its not going to be a good face day. Yet again its running off the back of may hand, I look like death warmed up, and the coverage is shite!! I would of been better going bare faced.

(the photos I took of my face came out crap on my camera sorry)

Well that's just my experience and I would love to hear how you are getting on with this product?????

The search for the 'perfect' foundation

I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who hates shopping for foundation.... I was using max factor second skin up until a few months ago when it took a tumble in the bathroom and smashed all over the place.... This make up really suited my skin type (oily around the tzone, normal everywhere else and a few spots here and there), but after it passed away I decided to make a change....

Why oh why did I make a change...... For the past 7/8 months I've been looking for the 'perfect' foundation.... But as the song goes 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for'.. As you have prob heard me mention before I'm as white as can be therefore I usually go for an ivory shade, but during the summer months if I have tan on I like to have a slightly darker shade so that I'm not color blocking with my skin!!

The next few post are going to be reviews of the foundations I have tried, the good and the ugly!!!

Featured will be Lancome Teint Miracle, L'oreal True Match & Infallible....

I'd love to hear about your search for the perfect foundation...

Summer wedding guest inspiration

In the summer time and the weather is fine.... most of us will be going or know someone going to a summer wedding.... a good friend of mine has one in june and asked me for a wee bit of help to find her a nice outfit... this particular friend will in no way shape or form have her lovely leggies on show unless covered with tights, and for a summer wedding this is a no no... so my immediate thought turned to maxi dress... However she has a lot of boobage, double e's I'd like to say so it can be difficult to find a maxi that isnt cut down to the belly button to hold those puppies in place!! Oh and her final thing is she doesnt like showing off her toes, feet give her the willies...

So if you a lady who likes to cover up the legs, has big boobs, and a foot phobia here are a few outfits I think you can pull off and look fab at a summer wedding :)

I'd love to hear what y'all think of my picks.....

Oompa Lumpa doom-pa-dee-do....

I dont know about yee, but the sunshine changes my whole 'aura'... I feel more positve about getting up for work, about doing housework, exercising and am generally a happier person!!

However I still look like frosty the snowman or the milkybar kid as the BF likes to put it :)
So in the sunny months I like to give myself a little glow with some tan, just to take away the whiteness... I'd prob still be frosty put up beside the likes of Amy Childs but I think natural is they key when fake tanning..

I've tried and tested many a tan, from cheap and cheerful Rimmel sun shimmer to the pricey Fake Bake, results varying from looking sun kissed to tangoed... I've now settled with Lancome Flash Bronzer Milk.... I love love love this tan and its worth every penny/cent in my opinion... Its very easy application as it has a slight tint in the milk, I use nurses gloves to apply, and do so before I go to bed... Sleep with loose pjs. Have a shower as normal the next morning, I reapply the 2nd night just for that bit extra...
The tan will fade naturally after a week approx if you exfoliate in the shower. As I'm very freckly on the arms in particular this tan looks really natural!! I've also used the gel and it works just as well :) Milk is just my personal preference.

Debenhams €35.00 / £25.00
Last summer I invested in Lancome Flash Bronzer face gel... AMAZING!! I apply this at night all over my face and down on to my neck, make sure you rub it right into the hairline as you may be left with a tan line!! I also use a damp cotton bud and rub it over my eyebrows and 'ronnie' area to ensure it doesn't gather and look darker!! You will wake up in the morning as if you have been on your jollies :)

Debenhams - €28.97 / £22.00

If your not in the market for both buys, you can use the body milk/gel on your face too by mixing a wee bit with some of your moisturiser, works a treat :) These products may be a bit pricey but if you find yourself buying a lot of different tans at lower prices just to find a good one and having half empty bottles all over the house, I would highly recommend taking the plunge and invest in this!!

Bridal Vintage inspiration.. I do...

I am very lucky to be a bridesmaid for my best friends up and coming wedding in September this year & for someone who has never been into the whole white dress/church thing I find myself constantly looking at dresses/table decor/invitations etc!!!

The venue for the wedding is a FAB castle in Ireland (don't want to give too much away), when I think castle I think vintage. So below are a few of my own vintage ideas.

1920's is an era I much love; lace, flapper dresses, sleek bobbed hair, subtle makeup, pearl necklaces, and cloche hats, therefore this is where I have plucked my dress ideas from!!

I thought I would share a few of my ideas for a vintage style wedding... I'd love to hear what y'all think...

Lets go head to toe....

I think no matter the dress style you can still add your own era to your wedding by the type of hairstyle and accessory you wear... I received a headpiece as a gift from this designer a couple of years ago and I fell in love. Loraine is an Irish designer from my native Kildare and I'm sure you will want to check out her facebook after feasting your eyes on these pieces.

1920's Hair - the finger wave...

Hair & hairpiece together

When I think of vintage makeup the first person that comes to mind is the stunning Dita Von Tesse. Her heavy lined eyes, tiny dark lips and bright cheeks scream 1920's.

Im no expert on the how to's of vintage makeup YET but I do know light foundation, power, black liner and red lippy are a must.

Every morning I walk by a flower shop which sells birdcages and i just love how vintage they look and after  a bit of reserach they seem to be a popular centerpiece.

any doilies nan?

Mines a pint...

So following the trend of of a paddy mani I decided to go for the pint of Guinness look :)
Took the easy option cause already had the white tips with my acrylics!!

Step 1 - try paint the black as straight as possible, I used l'oreal 702
Trying to keep the black as straight as possible
Step 2 - using a cocktail stick and rimmel lycra pro 378 posh trash, I dipped it into the pot and gave my best attempt at drawing a harp.. my left hand is a lot better, but still by no means artistic!!!!

My toolkit!!

Ta daaaaaaaaaaaa

Step 3 - go for a pint of the black stuff tomorrow and see if anyone pays me a compliment!!!!
Happy St.Patrick's Day wherever you may be celebrating... I'll be flying the tri-color in London (",)

Work chic....

So as a sports graduate i pretty much spent my five years studying in trackies... I couldn't wait to shed the o'neills bottoms and get girlie again... Since graduating I have been wearing dresses and skirts on a daily basis and I love how feminine they make me feel!!!

Living and working in London opens my eyes to all different types of work fashion.... Its my first proper 'office job' and having worn a uniform in nearly every other job, I long to have an amazing work wardrobe to fit in with these stunning women I travel alongside with everyday on the tube....

In my eyes work wear consisted of black trousers and a shirt... But im hopin to get my ass in gear this year so I've decided to share with you all my wish list of spring/summer work clothes all from my fave online clothes store

Be gentle, remember its my first proper office job so I'm being a bit cautious!!!!
